The Northern Network for Exiting the Right is the network of civil society distancing and exit programs in the northern German states (Bremen, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein).

We work closely together across national borders and connect stakeholders to enable exit from and distancing processes from (extreme) right-wing attitudes, contexts and conspiracy narratives.

The Northern Network for Exiting the Right Wing is the contact point for multipliers, regulatory bodies, authorities, and all other interested parties on the topic of "exiting and distancing oneself from right-wing extremism." In addition to advice and support, further training is offered for multipliers, e.g., in topics such as "Educational approaches to dealing with people who make (extreme) right-wing statements.".

Together, they operate an online counselling service that provides an anonymous contact option for both those interested in leaving the group and for multipliers and family members.

One focus of our work is to offer support to cadres and functionaries of the (extreme) right-wing scene when they want to leave it.

The network also develops and expands concrete working aids and methods from the quality standards of the nationwide umbrella organization Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft „Ausstieg zum Einstieg“ eV, to which we belong.

The “Northern Network for Exiting the Right” is made possible through a cooperation between the state democracy centers and the respective advisory networks of the participating states, and is funded by the federal program “Democracy Live!” as well as, where applicable, the state programs against right-wing extremism.

Inquiries

The Northern Network for Exiting the Right Wing and its members are very interested in your inquiries regarding information, training opportunities, consultations, and interviews. Whether consultants are available for the latter depends on the content and available time – however, we will try to make it possible.

Furthermore, the willingness of former extremists to participate in scientific studies or press formats is always a case-by-case decision. Factors such as privacy, the stage of the disengagement process, and the framing and context of the request must be taken into account.

Therefore, please feel free to contact us in any case:
