The Bremen Mitte, Östliche Vorstadt and Findorff Partnership for Democracy has been working against right-wing extremism, racism, xenophobia and forms of discrimination since 2011. A Bremen Nord Partnership for Democracy has also existed since 2015.
The Partnerships for Democracy support numerous projects in Bremen by young people, associations, initiatives and committed citizens.
As part of the federal program "Democracy Live! Active against Right-Wing Extremism, Violence and Misogyny," at least €90,000 is made available annually for the action funds of the two Partnerships for Democracy in Bremen. These funds support projects against discrimination and group-based hostility and help build networks.
To strengthen the participation of young people in the "Partnerships for Democracy", there are open groups in Bremen Mitte and Bremen-Nord, the two youth forums, which meet at regular intervals and are organized and led by young people themselves.
Further information, such as details about current events, funded projects and how to apply, can be found at www.partnerschaftfuerdemokratie.bremen.de/ and on the Facebook page.
The partnerships are supported by a coordination and specialist office of the Bremen Nature Friends Youth and by the lead office, the Office for Social Services, Social Center 3.
