The PiB Education Center prepares Bremen families and interested individuals for their roles as foster parents. Here, foster parents are qualified for different types of foster care. For active foster parents, the center offers supervision and guided groups. This includes educational leave for the entire foster family, popular children's and family courses, and a professional development day for foster parents.
The training center plans and organizes the "Impulse" professional development days for social work professionals. It also regularly offers needs-based training courses for childminders.
Many skills are in demand
Anyone who takes in a child from another family has to meet many demands: lovingly supporting the foster child, dealing competently with institutions and professionals, and cooperating with the biological parents for the well-being of the children.
Topics from everyday life with your foster child
At the PiB Education Center, we address topics that foster families frequently encounter. We strive to support foster families and offer opportunities for information and further training in our facilities. The PiB Education Center's biannual program encompasses all services related to full-time foster care, transitional foster care, mentoring programs, and short-term foster care.
