Platform for Bremen
The volunteers at the senior citizens' office want to do something for themselves and others, creating an interesting and active retirement. Together, and not alone, through our trips. Interested and soon-to-be seniors can find out about all the activities and participate, either passively or actively.
Our senior citizens' office is run by the association Seniorenbüro e.V. Bremen, founded in 1998 by senior citizens themselves. On July 1, 1998, it seamlessly continued the nationwide project phase funded by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs and the City of Bremen. The legal basis for this is Section 71 of the German Social Code, Book XII (SGB XII). The focus is on the mandate, transferred by the social services authority in 1996, to organize accompanied recreational trips for senior citizens in Bremen, and since 2004, also the former day trips for seniors, now known as Bremen Senior Citizens' Day Trips (BSTF).
The Bremen Senior Citizens' Office is funded by the Senator for Labour, Social Affairs, Youth and Integration.
