Tasks and objectives
We are your partner and act as an intermediary between you and the authorities. For this reason, we see ourselves as a socially responsible, forward-looking service organization. Our members can receive advice and information on all aspects of social law at our Bremen advice centers.
As part of this consultation and information service, representation is guaranteed, for example, before the Social Court and the State Social Court.
Our social policy demands are outlined in our Social and Women's Policy Program.
Our SoVD is not only a major social policy advocacy group, but also a forum for social gatherings and discussions.
Social policy interests
We represent the socio-political interests of our members by influencing legislation, government, and the public.
But what does socio-political mean? For example:
- Adequate pension benefits
- Equal opportunities
- Integration for people with disabilities
- Comprehensive health insurance without deductibles or co-payments
- a progressive senior citizens' policy with the goal of maintaining independence in old age
- equality of women in the workplace and society
- Further development of the social compensation law
We advocate for these and many more issues every day.
Furthermore, we are active in numerous committees, working groups, and advisory boards.
We also strongly support a Europe of social security, where equal opportunities exist for socially disadvantaged people and marginalized groups.
