The Stalking Crisis Intervention Team (Stalking-KIT) is a low-threshold service offering psychosocial counseling, supportive conversations, and referrals to further services for those involved in stalking conflicts – i.e., both victims/injured persons and accused/stalkers – from the state of Bremen, i.e., the cities of Bremen and Bremerhaven.
The primary goal of these discussions is to protect and support the victims/injured parties and, where applicable, their relatives. This also includes limiting the actions of the accused/stalkers. These individuals, in turn, are offered supportive counseling sessions. The objective in every case is to break the dynamic that establishes or fosters the stalking behavior.
The interviews are conducted by a mixed-gender team consisting of a female and a male psychologist.
The service, initially launched as an “AGIS Leader project” with partners from Sweden, Italy, Poland and Great Britain and funded with EU funds, has existed since 2006.
