The Bremen State Association for Health (Landesvereinigung für Gesundheit Bremen e.V.) is a non-profit, independent, and statewide professional association for health promotion and prevention. Its members include numerous institutions from the health, social, and educational sectors in the state of Bremen. Creating equal opportunities in health is a central goal of the association's work.
The Bremen State Association for Health (Landesvereinigung für Gesundheit Bremen e.V.) was founded in May 2005 and was active in the state of Bremen with various projects until the end of 2011. Due to a lack of funding, the association's work had to be largely suspended from 2012 to 2015.
In mid-2015, the Bremen State Association for Health (Landesvereinigung für Gesundheit Bremen e.V.) began working in close cooperation with the Lower Saxony State Association for Health and Academy for Social Medicine (Landesvereinigung für Gesundheit und Akademie für Sozialmedizin Niedersachsen e.V., LVG & AFS). This cooperation enabled the implementation of various health promotion and prevention projects in the state of Bremen.
Goals
The State Association for Health Bremen eV sees itself as a neutral, overarching platform for the topics of health promotion and prevention with a focus on "Social Inequality and Health".
The goals are to provide new impetus for practice, research, and policy, and to foster interdisciplinary exchange on health promotion and prevention. In this way, we aim to contribute to the transparency of the many successful best practices in the state of Bremen and to strengthen the integration of areas such as health, social services, science, culture, and education, in order to contribute to improving the health of the population in the face of limited resources. A further objective is to promote quality development in health promotion and prevention.
In our work, we serve as an advisory point of contact for health promotion and prevention, both across state borders and in local neighborhoods.
