Starting instead of taking a break!
Voluntary service opportunities at home and abroad:
Interesting options for starting a new phase of life. The Technical Youth Leisure and Education Association (tjfbg) gGmbH offers young people the opportunity to get involved in educational and care work in child, youth, disability and elderly services.
Anyone who has completed school and is under 27 years old can apply for a Voluntary Social Year (FSJ) under the Youth Voluntary Service Act. The FSJ lasts a minimum of six and a maximum of 18 months. For a 12-month placement, a minimum of 25 free seminar days and 26 vacation days are legally required. The host organization covers the volunteer's social security contributions. The volunteer receives a reasonable monthly allowance (up to €336) and a certificate of completion.
The Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth stipulates that the Voluntary Social Year (FSJ) must be performed in welfare organizations, kindergartens, youth, disability, and senior citizen services, as well as in healthcare and cultural institutions. Similarly, interested individuals can also apply for a Voluntary Ecological Year (FÖJ) or a Voluntary Sports Year.
