Debt and insolvency counselling

Debt counselling and help

Take the first step and contact us. As a state-approved debt counseling service based in Bremen, we will handle your matters quickly and reliably.

We will gain an overview of your current situation, review and evaluate your documents, and discuss the next steps with you in detail. In the second step, you will receive a comprehensive consultation appointment promptly, without long waiting times. We will discuss your current situation and provide you with initial advice.

We develop solutions tailored to your individual needs and promptly contact your creditors. If necessary, we will, of course, take immediate action. The initial contact is crucial. In our first consultation, we will discuss your situation.

Personal bankruptcy

The term "personal bankruptcy" is a bureaucratically cold term that often describes a fateful circumstance for an individual, a family, or a person who is not legally self-employed. These individuals are usually no longer able to participate in so-called "normal" everyday life, as most bills can no longer be paid. Expenses then significantly exceed income.

Household advice

Household budgeting is intended to complement debt counselling. Many debtors have simply lost track of their own income. Common reasons for debt include situations such as unemployment, divorce, separation, illness, or the loss of a partner.

Insolvency advice

The insolvency advice service of VerbraucherHilfe Bremen e.V. picks up where previous debt counselling leaves off. If the result of indebtedness is over-indebtedness, meaning the person seeking advice cannot repay their debts on their own without securing their livelihood, insolvency proceedings can be initiated under certain conditions.

Prevention

Our organization gives presentations in schools and other social institutions on the topic of "Debt – Money – Budgeting". We believe that you can't start too early with this topic to prepare young people and adults to handle money.

SCHUFA credit report

The German credit bureau Schufa is Germany's largest credit reporting agency. A Schufa report is intended to help business partners assess your creditworthiness and willingness to pay. However, the data collected is not always accurate, so it can be worthwhile to request a copy of your own report to correct any inaccuracies.
