For parents with babies and toddlers (0 to 3 years)
Daily life with infants and toddlers is, for most parents, both full of expectations and filled with many anxieties. Especially in the first weeks, months, and years of a child's life, questions and uncertainties arise regarding normal development.
Such questions, difficulties, and worries can put a strain on family life. Early intervention can prevent initial distress from developing into mental health problems.
You can contact us with your child regarding the following questions or concerns:
- Pregnancy and/or birth went differently than expected
- The contact with your baby feels off and brings no joy
- The new family life is predominantly perceived as a burden
- Your baby cries a lot and sleeps poorly, causing stress to build up in the relationship
- Feeding problems strain the relationship with the child and cause concerns about their development
- You have the impression that your child does not allow closeness or cannot tolerate separation
- Your baby cannot be calmed down
- Stress from relationship problems affects your child
- Your child's illness may raise questions and fears for you
- Your child doesn't want to or can't play
- Separation anxiety during the transition to daycare or kindergarten lasts unexpectedly long
We enable you to understand and solve persistent problems. To this end, we offer:
- Diagnostics
- Developmental psychology counseling
- Bonding-promoting interventions
- Crisis intervention
- Infant-Toddler-Parent Psychotherapy (SKEPT)
In infant-toddler-parent psychotherapy, we assume that children in their first years of life react directly to their parents' feelings and thoughts. This is primarily manifested physically. They are showing that they are exposed to stress and emotional strain that they can no longer regulate on their own
Joint therapy with baby and parents focuses on recognizing stressors that manifest in the interaction between baby and parents and understanding their causes. Due to the plasticity of the brains of very young children, relief can usually be achieved within a few hours. This allows the parent-child relationship to be calmed and strengthened.
