Skilled workers are urgently needed in industry and trade. With the "Environmental Trades are the Future" (UmZu+) project, we enable you to access employment and/or training!
Almost all industrial and craft trades are currently experiencing a shortage of skilled workers, who are urgently needed, especially for shaping a climate-neutral future. At the same time, many immigrants find it difficult to work in the skilled trades. With the "Environmental Crafts are the Future" (UmZu+) project, we aim to facilitate their access to employment and/or training in climate-relevant industrial and craft trades.

Requirements for participation
You can participate in the qualification project if you are interested in employment in the environmental trades and…
- have already gained work experience in industrial and craft professions in your home country, but this is not sufficient for (partial) recognition in Germany or
- have learned a profession abroad in which you cannot work in Germany or
- have no prior work experience in the trades.
- Ideally, you should already have reached language level B1.
Contents
Development of individual qualification plans: Together with you, we assess your language and professional skills. This allows us to jointly determine where you still have qualification and further training needs.
Training: During a 10-week training phase, we will instruct you in the following areas, among others: technical calculations, communication and German language for the workplace, digital skills, and working in Germany. You will also receive important information about the fields of work and career opportunities in the environmental trades.
Coaching/Follow-up Support: Throughout the entire program, you will receive individual, tailored coaching. If needed, follow-up support of up to four months can be provided.
Certificate: You will receive a certificate listing the content of the completed qualification modules.
Company internship: Following the qualification, you can – in consultation with the employment agency or the job center – complete an internship to get to know the daily routine in a craft business and to apply your already acquired knowledge and experience in practice.
