A weekend cycling trip through East Frisia
From September 4th to 6th, 2026, the cathedral parish is planning a bicycle tour aimed primarily at families, as even children from about nine years old can easily manage it. Two overnight stays are planned in the seaport city of Emden and the historic town of Aurich.
We start in Emden at the Kesselschleuse lock and finish on Sunday at the Kaiser Wilhelm Bridge in Wilhelmshaven. Along the Ems-Jade Canal cycle path, we experience beautiful scenery, cycling through marshland, moorland, and geest, and stopping at enchanting manor houses such as the moated castles of Hinta and Gödens.
The cost is €100 per person. The tour guide is Sebastian Schneider.
