Cooperation project of the German Red Cross Bremen District Association with the Bremen Office for Social Services.
As part of this project, foster parents who wish to assume voluntary foster care or guardianship for their foster children, or who are already acting as guardians, will receive training and guidance. A key feature of the guardianship law reformed in 2023 is the strengthening of voluntary guardianship. This aims to ensure that every child and young person, if possible, finds a guardian who provides empathetic, competent, and optimal support. Even in cases of conflict, for example with authorities, a solution should be found and cooperation should be sought in the best interests of the child or young person.
This also brings the assumption of guardianship or foster care by foster parents more into focus. Within the framework of proCuraKids, interested and potentially suitable foster parents will therefore be trained and, if necessary, advised.
