The ombudsman's office for child and youth welfare in the state of Bremen is always the point of contact for young people, their parents and families when support is needed in contact with the youth welfare office or a child and youth welfare institution, between foster parents and the youth welfare office or with a daycare center (Kita).
For parents
We offer the following support in the area of child welfare services (also integration assistance according to § 35a SGB VIII):
- General information on child and youth welfare services (e.g., What is child and youth welfare service? Who is entitled to child and youth welfare services? How do I apply? etc.)
- Advice on individual rights and obligations with regard to child welfare services (e.g., within the framework of family support in your family or a residential facility where your child lives)
- Accompaniment to a meeting at the youth welfare office or to a non-profit organization providing child and youth services
- Assistance with the formulation of applications, appeals or letters in the area of child and youth welfare services
- Through this consultation, we want to empower you to stand up for your point of view and your rights in the future.
For foster parents
Our services are also available to foster parents. In a joint consultation, we will clarify what support we can offer.
We offer the following support in the area of daycare centers:
- Advice in case of conflicts with your child's daycare center.
- Referral advice in case of unfulfilled legal entitlement to a daycare place, termination of the daycare place or questions about contributions or fees (Who can I contact? What do I have to do now?).
- Through this consultation, we want to empower you to stand up for your point of view and your rights in the future.
