A place to feel comfortable for young people in need
The "Kattenesch" youth residential group offers a place to live for young people who, for various reasons, cannot live with their families. The young people live together in a beautiful house located directly on the Ochtum River, receive 24/7 care, and are supported in managing their daily lives, at school and in vocational training, as well as in processing personal crises and problems. The caregivers and social workers also promote communication and reconciliation with the families, ensuring that the families remain a source of support for the young people. After some time, the young people can move into their own apartments on the lower level of the house, experience independent living, and gradually grow towards self-reliance. Several times a year, the young people participate in experiential learning trips, such as canoeing tours or camping trips.
