From January 2027, the Initiative for Social Rehabilitation eV will establish further locations for its advice center “Work in Focus”, namely in the north, south and east of Bremen as well as in Bremerhaven – and is now looking for suitable premises.
From January 2027, the "Work in Focus" advice center will open additional locations: in Bremen's north, south, and east, as well as in Bremerhaven. Staff there will advise and support job seekers with mental health problems/illnesses in finding employment. The initiative is seeking two rooms at each location, and two to three rooms in Bremerhaven.
“We welcome any suggestions and referrals. Initially, we would also be willing to share spaces with our cooperation partners for a few hours at a time if that works better,” says Monika Möhlenkamp. “The spaces should be as accessible as possible to ensure everyone can participate,” adds the head of “Work in Focus.”.
The "Work in Focus" team operates with a very low barrier to entry and welcomes everyone. The counseling team consists of professionals (coaches) and peer counselors. Peer counselors are people with their own experience of mental illness who have completed the EX-IN recovery support training. The project has been running in Bremen West for six years. There, people receive individual and group support and the project collaborates with a large network and with local businesses.
