LVG & AFS is a non-profit, independent professional association for health promotion, prevention and social medicine, based in Hanover with a branch in Bremen.
It connects stakeholders from the fields of health, social services, education, and other areas of activity, and promotes interdisciplinary exchange between practice, research, and politics. The goal is to strengthen health equity and create health-promoting living environments for people of all ages.
The tasks of LVG & AFS include the development and implementation of health promotion and prevention projects and programs, expert consultation, and process support for municipalities, institutions, and organizations. Furthermore, it conducts practice-oriented research and evaluation and supports knowledge transfer through specialist publications, practical guides, and working materials.
The services are aimed particularly at professionals, multipliers, and institutions in the health, social, and education sectors. These include conferences, training courses, workshops, networks and working groups, as well as topic-specific consulting and qualification programs. The work is guided by the principles of health promotion, participation, networking, and needs-based quality development.
