What does accessibility mean for digital information services and offerings? Who is obligated under the Disability Equality Act (BGG) or the Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) to make their digital offerings accessible?
We would like to discuss these questions together with representatives of the Central Office for Accessible Information Technology, located at the State Commissioner for People with Disabilities of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen.
Further information and registration
Digital information and services are becoming increasingly important. This also applies to many projects and institutions in the social and healthcare sectors. It goes without saying that these services should be designed to be as accessible as possible. But what exactly does accessibility mean in this context? Who is obligated under the Disability Equality Act (BGG) or the Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) to make their digital services accessible?
We would like to discuss these questions together with Ulrike Peter and Rebecca Romppel from the Central Office for Accessible Information Technology, located at the State Commissioner for People with Disabilities of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen. They will demonstrate how digital barriers can be identified, which target groups have specific requirements, and how accessible content can be implemented in practice.
Practical tips for designing an accessible website come from Yvonne Kurzawski, who, as head of the Bremen care support centers, oversaw the website's conversion: www.bremen-pflegestuetzpunkt.de.
Wednesday, November 11, 2026, 8:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Bremen Youth Hostel, Kalkstraße 6, 28195 Bremen
This workshop is explicitly NOT aimed at website developers, but rather at individuals who wish to acquire basic knowledge of the guidelines and possibilities for accessible design of digital offerings and who maintain and contribute to the editorial content of digital offerings. The goal is to gain inspiration for (re)designing one's own digital offerings.
