People with learning disabilities have a three to four times higher risk of developing dementia compared to the general population. This is particularly true for people with Down syndrome (Trisomy 21). To enable people with dementia and learning disabilities to have a good quality of life, participate in society, and receive individualized support, knowledge, exchange, and practical perspectives are essential.
The conference is aimed at employees and volunteers in the support system for people with disabilities, service providers and advice centers in the fields of care and dementia, and other interested parties. It is organized and conducted by the Bremen Coordination Office for Health Equity (KGC) of LVG & AFS in cooperation with the Bremen State Commissioner for People with Disabilities.
