Northern Network Exit Right

The Northern Network for Exiting the Right is the network of civil society disengagement and disengagement programs in the northern German states. It works closely together across state borders and connects actors to facilitate exit from and disengagement processes from (extreme) right-wing attitudes, contexts, and conspiracy narratives.

The Northern Network for Leaving the Right Wing is the contact point for multipliers, mainstream organizations, authorities, and all other interested parties on the topic of "leaving and distancing oneself from right-wing extremism." In addition to counseling and support, further training is offered for multipliers, for example, in areas such as "Educational approaches to dealing with people who make (extreme) right-wing statements." Together, they operate an online counseling service that provides an anonymous contact option for those interested in leaving the right wing, as well as for multipliers and family members.

A key focus of our work is offering support to leaders and functionaries of the (far) right-wing scene as they attempt to leave it. The network also develops and expands concrete tools and methods based on the quality standards of the nationwide umbrella organization Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft „Ausstieg zum Einstieg“ eV (Federal Working Group "Exit to Entry"), of which we are a member.

The “Northern Network for Exiting the Right” is made possible through a cooperation between the state democracy centers and the respective advisory networks of the participating states, and is funded by the federal program “Democracy Live!” as well as, where applicable, the state programs against right-wing extremism.
