Parents' evening on the various aspects of media use
How about a parents' evening to discuss the various aspects of media use? What do the children do online? What important functions does the online world fulfill in their development? What opportunities does this (free) space offer? But also: What could be risky?
You will receive answers to these and other questions at a free parents' evening. The exchange with other parents of the class is just as valuable as the presentation itself.
The Bremen State Media Authority finances these events, therefore they are free of charge for schools and youth organizations. Specific topics can be agreed upon.
Parents' evening on the media worlds of young people
The internet has become an integral part of most children's and teenagers' lives: whether it's social networks, online research for school on the "www," or the use of video portals like YouTube. Besides the many positive opportunities that serve knowledge acquisition, communication, and entertainment, the internet also offers a multitude of freely accessible resources whose content is seriously harmful to minors or even criminally relevant.
However, controlling the internet using traditional media regulatory instruments is only possible to a limited extent. For this reason, responsible use of this medium is considerably more important compared to traditional mass media. The Bremen Media Authority (Brema) is taking a crucial step in this direction with its "Safe Internet for Children and Young People" initiative.
This training course informs educators and parent representatives about how the internet works, its potential risks for children and young people, and the possibilities and limitations of preventative online youth media protection. Strategies for addressing these risks are also discussed.
The events are organized by the ServiceBureau Jugendinformation on behalf of Brema and are free of charge for schools, youth work institutions and parent representatives.
Depending on the participants' prior knowledge and needs, the training course is offered with different focuses. Please use the telephone consultation service for this purpose.
