The debt counselling center provides social debt counselling on behalf of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen.
The debt counselling service is aimed at all citizens of Bremen seeking help, regardless of whether they are from Bremen South with the districts of Neustadt, Obervieland, Huchting, Woltmershausen and Seehausen, or from Bremen East with the districts of Östliche Vorstadt, Schwachhausen, Vahr, Horn-Lehe, Borgfeld, Oberneuland, Osterholz and Hemelingen, or from Bremen West with the districts of Blockland, Findorff, Walle and Gröpelingen, or from Bremen North with the districts of Burglesum, Vegesack and Blumental.
What we can do for you in debt counselling:
- You will receive an appointment at short notice without long waiting times
- We offer a free consultation on the topic of debt
- We conduct insolvency consultations
- We will file the application for consumer insolvency together with you, should this become necessary
- We will conduct a budget consultation with you
- We will help you in emergencies
- We will inform you about the protected bank account (P-account) and issue the necessary certificate
- We conduct training courses and conferences
- We provide assistance with problems that have led to debt, such as addiction, mental illness, etc.
- We offer advice regarding prevention
The advisory center is recognized under Section 305 of the German Insolvency Code (InsO) and is a non-profit organization. In Bremen, costs are generally covered.
Opening hours
Monday to Thursday: 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Other dates are possible by arrangement.
