Promoting mental health
We have been working on this for many years,
- how mental health can be maintained and mental illnesses prevented by positively influencing living conditions,
- how mental balance can be restored,
- how people with severe mental illnesses can cope with their everyday lives.
In our consultations, you will learn specifically about the available options and, above all, what contribution you can make to ensure the success of the collaborative process. The ultimate goal is always to develop your own coping skills as quickly as possible.
Individual support
Treatment and participation services are available to people with mental illnesses when they need support. Those who need help don't want to overcome bureaucratic hurdles and want to receive an offer promptly.
Information and participation
Our aim is not simply to "implement concepts," but to collaboratively develop individually tailored support. This cannot be achieved without the active participation of people requiring support and their families.
Support means that our service is not a "product" but part of a process: developments in people with support needs and the actions of our employees are interdependent.

On behalf of the Senator for Women, Health and Consumer Protection, a project group from the ASB Society for Mental Health has created an online guide for people with mental health problems.

Family support
Relatives of people with mental illness should be involved in their development as often and as intensively as possible. Opportunities exist to exchange experiences in groups or to improve understanding and skills through information

Recovery companion
It has become commonplace to involve people with their own experience of mental illness in providing support. Several peer support workers also enrich our work.
Magazine “Twilight”
“Zwielicht” is a magazine about psychosocial support, in which colorful, individual and idiosyncratic stories and poems are published – a magazine project by people who want to give space to psychological diversity.
"Zwielicht" critically and constructively accompanies the Bremen psychiatric reform. The online edition includes information on events and current news. All 15 previous issues of "Zwielicht" can also be downloaded here.
