A non-profit organization dedicated to raising and strengthening understanding for people with autism.
The association Autismus Bremen e. V. supports those affected by autism and their families with a wide range of services. From early intervention and therapy to leisure activities, housing options, and career guidance, all services take into account the specific needs of people with autism spectrum disorders. The focus is on communication on equal terms – and the path to a more self-determined life.
Our non-profit organization is committed to raising and strengthening understanding of people with autism. Learning to understand also means seeing the world through another person's eyes. At the same time, we offer those affected and their families the opportunity to share experiences. With individually tailored support services, we create the essential foundation for finding a self-determined life.
Get to know us and learn more about our organization, our services, and upcoming events. Family members and those affected can receive support and guidance from us, whether it's finding a diagnostic facility, therapy, or housing options. Going public is the first step towards engaging in dialogue.
We aim to ensure that children, adolescents, and adults with autism spectrum disorder receive individualized support tailored to their needs and abilities, enabling them to integrate into kindergartens, schools, and the workforce. Our goal is to empower them to lead happy and fulfilling lives with the greatest possible degree of self-determination and to provide their families and communities with the best possible support.
Another part of our work is raising public awareness of the situation of people with autism spectrum disorders and their families. Our aim is to awaken and deepen understanding of their needs, difficulties, but also their special strengths.
If one person has a vision alone, it remains a vision. If we all move forward together, then it will become reality!
Background of the club
The Bremen-based association "Hilfe für das autistische Kind Bremen eV" (Help for the Autistic Child Bremen) was founded in 1972 by affected parents. Its aim remains to create specialized support and therapy programs for people with autism spectrum disorders, enabling them to learn and develop individually according to their abilities and challenges.
Since its founding, the now renamed association “Autismus Bremen eV Regionalverband zur Förderung von Menschen mit Autismus” has continuously built up residential and therapy facilities specifically for autistic people.
An important part of our work also includes offering advice, training, a job mentoring program, and self-help groups. Furthermore, our own publishing house produces informational materials, literature, and films.
