Clearing for refugee youth
BAHIA, which means "the bay" in German, is a clearinghouse for unaccompanied minor refugees in Bremen. We are a residential facility providing emergency care for young people aged 14 to 18. Since 2014, we have offered them protection and ongoing support here on Stresemannstrasse.
BAHIA is a four-story former office building on Stresemannstrasse. It was completely converted into a clearinghouse in 2014 and has since provided temporary accommodation for 27 young refugees. The young people live in single rooms with private bathrooms or share a bathroom with an adjacent room.
