We are one of the smaller regional churches within the Evangelical Church in Germany. Here, hierarchies are flat, communication channels are short, people know each other and look out for one another. Those who work for us are not only part of a diverse community, but also benefit from a wide range of opportunities to shape the church.
The congregations within the Bremen Evangelical Church (BEK) are largely autonomous, as they enjoy freedom of belief, conscience, and teaching. This has led to a wonderfully diverse congregational landscape in Bremen. Some congregations are more relaxed and undogmatic, while others are more traditional. Some are politically and socially active, while others emphasize personal piety.
The BEK's areas of responsibility are also diverse. They can be found in worship services and religious life, in social services and projects, in educational and cultural work, in daycare centers, in vibrant church music, in administration, in our conference and education center Haus Meedland on Langeoog, and in many other areas.
The team at the educational institution designs and implements numerous educational events on a wide variety of topics. We focus on the diverse needs of our participants and maintain close communication with our instructors to create an attractive program.
