Relief | Care
At the Löwenherz Children's and Youth Hospice, children and young people with an incurable and life-shortening illness receive loving and professional care and support together with their families.
Because parents are often on the verge of exhaustion due to the daily demands of everyday life – and their own needs take a back seat. Added to this is the uncertainty of how long the child will live and how the death can be processed.
At Löwenherz, families find not only security and care for their sick child, but also time for each other and respite from their demanding daily lives. They can also connect with others in similar situations. And some even confront the profound reality of their child's death.
End-of-life care | Saying goodbye
One of Löwenherz's goals is to allow children and young people to die at home whenever possible. However, their final days can also be spent in the children's and youth hospice.
We provide intensive support to families during their child's dying process. Upon request, our multidisciplinary team offers help and pastoral care in dealing with individual questions of faith and life.
After death, the child or young person can be laid out in the Löwenherz funeral home. This allows for a dignified farewell in the familiar family circle.
