People with mental illness often find it difficult to structure their day meaningfully. A reliable meeting place like the West Day Center, the "Café Klatsch," offers them support and guidance in this situation.
The café opened in 1982 and is part of the local support network for people with mental health conditions in the neighborhood. It was completely renovated and modernized in 2011. Visitors receive advice and support to structure their day and stay active. They can buy food and drinks here at cost.
In addition to this open area, the day center offers work and employment opportunities with individualized support in the café, coffee roastery, and book workshop. Furthermore, the sewing workshop offers eight jobs exclusively for women.
