The DSW – Deutsche Sozialwerk eV is a community of diversely interested people who voluntarily, selflessly and honorarily provide individual help to others and cultivate cultural interests.
DSW in Bremen:
The DSW – Deutsche Sozialwerk e.V. (German Social Welfare Association) – founded in 1952 – is an association represented in almost all German states and in many cities. It is recognized as a charitable and non-profit organization, non-denominational and non-partisan.
The Bremen group has become an integral part of the social network in the city of Bremen. Its members are actively involved on a voluntary basis. They regularly visit senior citizens' homes, nursing homes, or private residences, accompanying them on walks and outings or assisting with official appointments.
During these visits, they play games, present and discuss books, sing songs, and generally enjoy each other's company.
The DSW members, who mainly consist of young-at-heart seniors, also derive personal benefits from their work.
Numerous activities are offered to members.
Excursions, regular meetings, lectures, guided tours and concerts are also part of the association's program, true to the motto:
Helping others – experiencing community.
