The birth of a child is always a special event. In the obstetrics department of the Women's Clinic at DIAKO, we offer you a comfortable and trusting atmosphere. We want to provide you with the best possible conditions for the birth of your child.

Registration

Registering for childbirth – from the 36th week of pregnancy onwards – is not mandatory, but is possible and highly recommended. This gives you the opportunity to get to know us personally, ask individual questions, take care of initial formalities, and fill out the necessary paperwork.

The great advantage is that we can concentrate entirely on you when you arrive in the delivery room in labor on the day of birth.

Postnatal nursing care is provided by the nurses on the mother-and-child ward. For many years, we have followed the concept of holistic postpartum care. During each shift, you will be cared for by a pediatric nurse who will attend to your individual needs

Rooming-In

We offer 24-hour rooming-in to avoid unnecessary separations between mother and child. You can keep your child with you for as long as you like, get to know your child's habits, and be optimally prepared for your time together at home.

We will support you in positioning your baby correctly for breastfeeding immediately after birth. Our competent staff on the postpartum ward are always available to answer any questions you may have about breastfeeding.

In our family rooms, a partner or accompanying person can stay free of charge for the first night.

Pediatric care is ensured through our close cooperation with the pediatricians of the Bremen-North Clinic. In addition to being available 24 hours a day, they are on-site at the DIAKO twice daily for rounds and preventative check-ups.
