The Brücke hospice is a place of peace and security for seriously ill people and their relatives in an Art Nouveau villa with a large garden in Bremen-Walle.
The hospice opened in 2002 as Bremen's first inpatient hospice and offers eight beds. Here, terminally ill people can, together with their loved ones, experience their final journey with dignity and freedom from suffering. Both full-time and volunteer staff provide individualized support based on palliative care principles, focusing on alleviating symptoms and achieving the greatest possible relief from them. The hospice welcomes people of all cultures, religions, worldviews, gender identities, and sexual orientations.

- Palliative care and support: medical, nursing, psychosocial and spiritual; guests continue to structure their own daily routine.
- Pastoral care: for guests and their families, regardless of religion or worldview.
- Grief support and counselling: during the stay and after death, for a one-off conversation or regular appointments
- Farewell arrangements: Relatives, including children, can help shape the farewell in their own way.
- Volunteer support: conversations, walks, reading aloud, or simply being there.
Admission is at the patient's own request. Relatives can initiate the admission process together with the patient by asking the social services department of the treating hospital or the family doctor's office to send a medical certificate of necessity to the hospice.
