District: Eastern Suburbs

Treatment and counseling center of the Association for the Promotion of Health and Medical Care for Undocumented and Uninsured People in Bremen e.V.

For Bremen residents without legal residency status (“undocumented”) and other uninsured people, access to healthcare is often difficult.

The services offered in the premises “Außer der Schleifmühle” pursue three main goals:

  • to enable access to any necessary specialist medical care through treatment vouchers,
  • a clearing process for integrating previously uninsured individuals into standard care, and thus an admission
  • to establish a regular health insurance system, as well as
  • to offer low-threshold initial care in order to prevent serious disease progression.

Offers:

  • Low-threshold medical care (consultation hours)
  • Advice on priority access to the regular healthcare system (clearing)
  • Referral and billing of healthcare services in an external network of healthcare providers

The project is financed by grants from the Senator for Health, Women and Consumer Protection.

We support people in gaining access to healthcare. Our priority is access to the regular system, meaning statutory or private health insurance, or as a recipient of benefits under the Asylum Seekers' Benefits Act (AsylbLG) or the Social Code (SGB).

To make this possible, we offer information, advice, and support. Please contact us if you have any questions. Or come to our consultation hours.

Information for therapists:

The MVP association is building and developing a network to improve or even make possible the health and medical care of people without health insurance or without proof of a right of residence.

The network consists of medical practices, midwives, physiotherapists, hospitals and other healthcare providers.

MVP Bremen e.V. can cover the costs of completed treatments within certain limits and under certain conditions. To make this possible, the association receives funding from the Senator for Health, Women and Consumer Protection.

If you are a healthcare provider and are interested in participating and contributing, please contact us!
