The community school association was founded in 1983 and has therefore existed for over 30 years. During this time, it has undergone many changes in its internal structure and range of services. Despite all the changes, two main characteristics have always guided its actions:
One primary goal has always been to provide educational and instructional support to children and young people with special needs, opening up new opportunities for their participation in school, professional, and social life, both now and in the future. Another key objective has been, and remains, promoting the employment of educators and teachers and creating new job opportunities for them.
Against this background, the initial homework help and support for disadvantaged children and young people, financed by the employment office and the Senator for Labor, has developed into a broad and constantly changing range of activities.
In addition to the support concepts developed from practical experience, the various funding instruments of the State of Bremen and the Employment Agency have always been instrumental in the development of new programs. However, the focus on education and upbringing for disadvantaged children and young people – youth welfare – has remained unchanged.
The threads of the association are held together by our administrative staff in the office.
