This qualification is perfect for you if you are multilingual and enjoy working with children and families!

We prepare you for your future work as a childminder with children aged 0 to 3 years. Through classroom instruction and practical experience, we will develop the specialist knowledge and skills you need to professionally support children's development in your own home, in the child's family, or in a daycare center. This course will also improve your German language skills, strengthening your communication and interaction abilities in the pedagogical field.

In the preparatory qualification for child day care B1, you acquire and expand pedagogical, organizational, legal and specialist language knowledge and skills for working with children aged 0-3 years.

Topics include:

  • Communication and interaction in the educational field
  • shaping relationships with children and parents
  • Understanding and supporting the education and development of children
  • Understanding and guiding children's play
  • Initial contact with the parents, admission of the child, settling-in period
  • Child welfare
  • Health, hygiene and nutrition
  • legal foundations, e.g., mandate to promote children and children's rights
  • Job application training
  • Setting up a daycare center
  • Preparation, reflection and evaluation of the internship

The qualification is based on the qualification handbook for child day care (QHB) and is supplemented by communication and specialist language instruction.

They attend classes with supplementary self-study units and complete an internship in a daycare center or childminding service. Teachers provide individual support for any challenges or problems they encounter.

The B1 preparatory qualification ends with a final procedure.
