Trauerland currently offers nine children's bereavement groups: eight in Bremen and one in Verden. Each group has space for up to 13 children aged 2 to 14. The groups meet every two weeks and last 90 minutes. Each group is led by a qualified educator or psychologist, supported by six to eight volunteer bereavement counselors trained by us.
The groups offer children a safe space to express their grief individually. In the bereavement groups, children can play, draw, romp around, and talk to each other. Each child decides for themselves what they want and need at any given moment.
The children are carefully supervised and experience the important feeling of community within the group.
