Books, CDs and audio plays for young and old guests

Choose. Donate. Read. – Under this simple motto, the neighborhood and family center promotes reading in families. In the room affectionately called the "book chamber," families can choose from over 500 very well-preserved children's, young adult, and adult books donated to the SOS Children's Village Bremen.

For the youngest children, we had a reading nook built, because of course the books can also be viewed directly on site.

After making their selection, each family donates what they can and wish to – and the children can drop coin donations into a specially made coin slot. The donations will fund the educational programs at the SOS Children's Village center.

The book room is open to every visitor of the SOS Children's Village Centre.

We would like to thank the Senate Chancellery of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, which supports the book chamber with funds from its innovation fund, as well as everyone who donates their well-preserved books to us and thereby promotes (reading aloud).

We are always happy to receive donations of children's and young adult books. We gladly accept them on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Friedrich-Ebert-Straße 101 in the Neustadt district.
