STEM programs for female students in Bremen / Bremerhaven and surrounding areas
Creative, engaging, and forward-looking! MINTsteps is a collaborative project that supports girls and young women on their path into the world of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). We connect schools, universities, and companies to create practical opportunities that inspire and excite.
MINTsteps is a regional education cluster in Bremen and Bremerhaven promoting STEM education for girls and young women. The project has been funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) since May 2024 as part of the third funding phase for regional clusters for STEM education for young people.
For girls and young women
Are you interested in technology, programming, research, or tinkering – or are you simply curious and want to try something new? Then check out MINTsteps! We offer programs for girls and young women from 3rd grade through upper secondary school where you can experiment, discover, ask questions, and get involved.
STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics – but with us, it's not about grades or competition. At MINTsteps, you can do things that interest you, decide for yourself what you want to do, and discover new sides of yourself. All without pressure.
Our programs take place at various locations in Bremen and Bremerhaven: at your school, in workshops, at universities, or in leisure facilities. For example, you can build robots, work with 3D printing, implement your own mini-project, or see the inside of laboratories.
All activities are free. No prior knowledge is required. You can not only participate – you can also have your say! We are establishing a student advisory board: If you want, you can develop ideas together with other girls, tell us what is important to you, and help shape the project.
Ask us! Or ask your teachers – they can also get in touch with us. We'd love for you to join us – whether you already have a plan or just want to check it out.
