If you want to qualify professionally to work with children and young people, then training as an educator is just right for you!

The need for social education professionals is high, whether in childcare or youth welfare facilities. Training or retraining as an early childhood educator is therefore a fantastic opportunity for qualified employment. Our state-accredited, work-integrated program provides you with all the necessary skills to enjoy working in settings such as nurseries, kindergartens, all-day schools, or residential child and youth care facilities.

Requirements for participation

You can participate in the training/retraining program…

  • if you have a secondary school leaving certificate (Realschule) and three years of relevant professional experience (working with children or young people) or
  • if you have a secondary school leaving certificate (Realschule), vocational training and at least one year (or 900 hours) of relevant professional experience or
  • if you have an equivalent school leaving certificate from another country, proof of German language skills at level B2 and three years of relevant professional experience
  • if you have a secondary school leaving certificate (Realschule) and at least two years of relevant vocational training (e.g. social education assistant) or
  • if you have a university entrance qualification and at least one year (or 900 hours) of relevant professional experience.

If you do not meet the participation requirements, special admission is possible in justified individual cases.
