If you want to work as an educational or social care professional in daycare centers and other child and youth welfare facilities, then this training or retraining program is perfect for you. As a social education assistant, you will support educators in all aspects of care, education, and upbringing, and actively contribute to fostering diversity and understanding!

Requirements for participation

You can participate in the training/retraining program…

  • if you have a secondary school leaving certificate (Realschulabschluss) or
  • if you have an equivalent school leaving certificate from another country and proof of German language skills at level B2.

If you do not meet the participation requirements, special admission is possible in justified individual cases.

The content is based on the educational requirements of the framework plan for education and upbringing in the elementary sector of Bremen and Lower Saxony.

If needed, the lessons are supplemented by specialized pedagogical language training.

Cost contribution:
In-service training for employees: Employers can apply for a subsidy from the Federal Employment Agency via the Qualification Opportunities Act.

Retraining for job seekers/career returners: Funding via an education voucher from the job center/Federal Employment Agency is possible.

Course scope:
1,870 teaching units (TU) + 700 hours of practical training

Class times:
3 times per week, 8:30 am – 2:30 pm (Mon – Wed or Wed – Fri) + block weeks

Participants:
maximum 24 people
