The demand for social education professionals is high – and this is your opportunity! If you would like to work in a nursery, daycare center, or children's home, for example, then complete a vocational training program to become a childcare worker with us. We will support you on your path to qualified employment in a highly sought-after field.
Requirements for participation
You can participate in the training/retraining program…
- if you have the extended vocational qualification (extended secondary school leaving certificate) or
- if you have an equivalent school leaving certificate from another country and proof of German language skills at level B1.
With us you can complete your vocational school training as a child care worker as retraining (for clients of the job center/employment agency) or as part-time vocational training (for employees in socio-educational institutions of child and youth welfare).

Cost contribution:
In-service training for employees: Employers can apply for a subsidy from the Federal Employment Agency via the Qualification Opportunities Act.
Retraining for job seekers/career returners: Funding via an education voucher from the job center/Federal Employment Agency is possible.
Course scope:
2,270 teaching units (TU) + 600 hours of practical training
In the 1st and 2nd year of training:
3x per week classes, 8:30 am – 2:30 pm;
2x per week practical training of 5 hours each.
In the 3rd year, vocational internship:
1x per week classes, 8:30 am – 2:30 pm;
4x per week practical training of 7 hours each,
approx. 35 hours/week total workload.
