The Psychotherapeutic University Outpatient Clinic for Children, Adolescents and Young Adults (PULS) offers a consultation service for anxiety and depression for children, adolescents and young adults (0-21 years)
The PULS Psychotherapeutic Outpatient Clinic at the University of Bremen offers support for children, adolescents, and young adults aged 0 to 21, as well as their families. Currently, the service is particularly aimed at young people experiencing anxiety or depression. Psychotherapeutic support can be beneficial when worries, anxieties, low mood, or other symptoms significantly impact daily life over an extended period. Signs can include, for example, severe withdrawal, frequent worrying, anxiety in specific situations, irritability, exhaustion, sleep problems, or physical complaints without an apparent cause.
The university outpatient clinic offers diagnostic assessment of symptoms, scientifically based psychotherapeutic treatment, and counseling for parents and other important caregivers. Treatment is individually tailored to the situation of the child or young person.
As an institution of the University of Bremen, PULS combines psychotherapeutic care with research and teaching. Psychology students can participate in treatments under the close supervision of experienced psychotherapists. The therapy is based on current scientific knowledge.
For those with statutory health insurance, the costs of psychotherapeutic treatment are covered if there is a corresponding medical indication. Those with private health insurance should clarify coverage with their insurance company beforehand.
