Group counseling for pregnant women and families with infants

The Bremen Public Health Department offers counseling in parent-child groups for families with infants, as well as group sessions for pregnant women. These services are led by experienced healthcare professionals and are aimed at residents of communal accommodations.
Participation is voluntary, free of charge, and confidential. The project is funded by the Association of Substitute Health Insurance Funds on behalf of the substitute health insurance funds as part of the "Healthy Living Environments" initiative.

  • Outreach counselling in groups around pregnancy and the time with baby on topics such as movement, nutrition, media and language development as well as other needs of the child and family in the German health system.
  • Movement activities and practical exercises to promote movement and development with elements from baby massage, PEKiP, PäPKi, and much more.
  • Exchange within the group and space for individual questions.

The service is available to pregnant women and families with children up to 18 months old. It is aimed at people living in communal accommodations (e.g., refugee shelters) within the city of Bremen.
