Parenting training for parents who have separated or want to separate

When parents separate, children need extra attention and affection. At the same time, the parents are under immense stress, which drains their energy, time, and patience. This often negatively impacts the children – which in turn makes mothers and fathers feel guilty, further increasing their burden. It's a difficult, vicious cycle. The parenting course "Children in Focus©" offers support for interested parents.

The course topics include:

  • Being and remaining parents
  • Children ask – parents answer
  • What does my child need right now?
  • How should I react if my child has unpleasant feelings?
  • Attention and consideration – nurturing the relationship with my child
  • Better conflict management – “Getting off the roller coaster”
  • How I can recharge in crisis situations – “islands in a sea of stress”
  • What sustains me? – Gaining a new perspective on life

The structure of the course:

  • Both parents participate in six training evenings, each lasting three hours, in separate groups (unfortunately, we are currently unable to offer parallel courses). Each course is led by a male/female trainer couple.
  • Only fathers and mothers who currently have independent and regular contact with their child are eligible to participate. Supervised visitation excludes participation.
  • The children must be between 3 and 12 years old.

Six good reasons for this course:

  • Developing a greater understanding of children in separation situations
  • Separation-related topics clearly explained
  • Individual learning and experience in small groups
  • Exchange with parents in similar situations
  • Findings based on the latest family research
  • Experienced course instructors
