RAA Berlin is seeking an employee (m/f/d) for the Coordination and Specialist Office (KuF) of the Partnership for Democracy in Bremen-North, starting on January 1, 2027, as part of the federal program “Democracy Live!”.
RAA Berlin (Regional Offices for Education, Integration and Democracy) is an independent organization that has been committed to educational equity since 1991 and supports anti-discriminatory participation projects in daycare centers, schools, school environments, and municipalities. Furthermore, RAA Berlin has developed various forms of process-oriented consulting and professional development programs.
Based on an intersectional critique of racism, RAA Berlin develops projects, particularly those focusing on practical solutions for anti-racist and anti-discrimination work. We do not view these approaches as separate entities, but rather as intersecting. In addressing disadvantage and discrimination, RAA Berlin's work is geared towards empowering individuals and groups who have experienced discrimination and significantly integrating their knowledge into our work.
The Coordination and Expertise Center (KuF), together with the lead agency and the alliance, shapes the strategic and substantive development of the Partnership for Democracy. It advises and supports local stakeholders in the development and implementation of projects, strengthens democratic networks, and contributes to the visibility of the Partnership for Democracy in Bremen-North through public relations and events.
Your tasks
The responsibilities include, in particular:
- The professional advice, support and assistance of project sponsors and initiatives in the development, application and implementation of projects within the framework of the federal program "Democracy Live!";
- cooperation with the lead agency, the alliance, as well as other civil society and municipal actors;
- the planning, organization and execution of specialist events, networking meetings and participation formats, in particular the Democracy Conference;
- the establishment, maintenance and further development of local and supra-regional networks in the field of democratic education, criticism of discrimination and social participation;
- the conception and implementation of public relations work, including the management of social media channels and the development of creative formats to make the partnership for democracy visible;
- Representation of the Partnership for Democracy in local and supra-regional working groups, expert committees and events of the federal program "Democracy Live!";
- the documentation of project work as well as participation in reports, evaluations and the conceptual development of the Partnership for Democracy.
Desired are:
- A completed university degree in education, sociology, political science, or a comparable field is required. Applications from individuals in other disciplines with relevant professional experience in the field are also welcome.
- Experience in applying for and processing funding, especially grant applications and proof of expenditure, as well as good knowledge of the budget law of the state of Bremen and the federal government.
- Sound knowledge and practical experience in the areas of democracy education, diversity-oriented organizational development, and anti-racist, intersectional political education.
- Creativity, strong communication skills, and experience or interest in public relations and social media;
- an independent, structured and responsible work ethic, as well as teamwork skills and organizational talent;
- the willingness to perform the work with a visible presence in Bremen-North and, if necessary, to attend appointments in the evening hours.
