The Initiative for Social Rehabilitation e.V. supports people with mental illness, addiction, and cognitive impairment. Through psychosocial and educational support, we empower them to lead self-determined lives and participate in society.
How can I find suitable employment if I have a mental illness? Since 2020, we have been helping with precisely this through "Work in Focus" in Bremen. Our counseling is open and easily accessible, and is tailored to the individual's needs and abilities. The innovative aspect of our approach is the equal collaboration between professional specialists and EX-IN peer support workers (who have their own experience of mental illness and recovery) within the team. We work in a community-based, participatory manner and in close cooperation with partner organizations and businesses. We are developing new ways to promote participation in the workforce and are expanding our counseling services in Bremen to achieve this.
