The Bremen Chamber of Employees is a public corporation representing the interests of approximately 400,000 employees in the state of Bremen. Its statutory duties include promoting the economic, professional, and social interests of employees. To this end, it contributes its expertise to social and political debates through studies, position papers, and policy proposals.
The Chamber of Employees advises its members on matters including labor and social security law, unemployment, tax law, professional development, and other issues related to the world of work. It also supports works councils and staff representatives and advises policymakers and public administration. Its thematic priorities include work and employment, work-life balance, education and training, health, care and social services, as well as the economy, finance, and infrastructure.
The Chamber of Employees offers specialist information, publications, events, lectures and workshops for professionals, multipliers, and works councils and staff representatives. Topics include occupational health and safety, digitalization and AI, data protection, co-determination, collective labor law, work-life balance and democratic education.
Continuing education and training are offered primarily through wisoak – the Academy of Economics and Social Sciences, a subsidiary of the Chamber of Employees. These include seminars, workshops, and training periods. The aim is to inform and qualify employees and to strengthen their interests and rights in the workplace.
