Use your experience from your country of origin and qualify as a group leader in a Bremen daycare center in 8 months.
If you have already completed a degree in social work or education in your home country, then qualifying as a pedagogical specialist and group leader in Bremen's daycare centers is a very good option. During the bridging program "Integrated Qualification in Socio-Educational Fields of Work (IQsA)," you will work three days a week in a daycare center and attend classes at the PBW (Pedagogical Training Center) for two days to learn about pedagogical approaches in Germany.
Requirements for participation
You can participate in the bridging program for immigrant educators (IQsA)..
- if you have completed a degree in primary school teaching abroad.
- if you have completed a degree in psychology, music education or a similar field abroad and have worked with children aged 0 to 12 for at least one year.
- if you have studied (social) pedagogy or teaching abroad and have worked with children aged 0 to 12 for at least three years.
- if you have good German skills (comparable to level B2 CEFR).
Contents
You will learn about approaches to educational practice in Germany. We will also familiarize you with the requirements of the "Bremen Framework Plan for Education and Upbringing" and the "Bremen Individual Learning and Development Documentation (LED)".
- Module 1: Developing pedagogical terminology and subject-specific vocabulary
- Module 2: Shaping Pedagogical Relationships
- Module 3: Working pedagogically with groups
- Module 4: Designing socio-educational processes
- Module 5: Legal Foundations of Social Pedagogical Work in Daycare Centers and Crèches
- Module 6: Supporting everyday integrated language development, perceiving and understanding diversity, and promoting inclusion
- Module 7: Shaping educational partnerships with parents/guardians
- Module 8: Examination module “Practical work”
The training program concludes with a project examination.
