Ready for primary school – qualification for immigrant teachers

Use your experience from your country of origin and qualify as an educational specialist or systemic assistant in primary schools within 5 months.

If you have already completed a degree in the social or educational field in your country of origin, then qualification as an educational specialist in primary school or as a systemic assistant is very possible.

During the "Ready for Primary School" qualification, you will have 3-4 days of classes at the PBW and complete a 5-week internship at a primary school to learn about approaches to pedagogical action in Germany.

Requirements for participation

You can participate in the "Ready for Primary School" qualification program…

• if you have studied (social) pedagogy, teaching, psychology, music education or a comparable subject abroad
• if you have good German skills (comparable to level B2 CEFR).

Contents

• Module 1: Introduction to the field of primary education: Role and task
• Module 2: Pedagogical Foundations: Understanding and appropriately acting on children in the developmental age of 6-10 years
• Module 3: Developing and expanding methodological skills: shaping pedagogical work
• Module 4: Understanding and responding appropriately to mental or socio-emotional disabilities
• Module 5: Cooperation, Communication and Conflict: Consciously Shaping Interactions
• Final procedure
