Young men are increasingly susceptible to misogynistic messages and problematic images of masculinity. They are particularly bombarded with misogynistic content on social media. To counter this, we need laws – but also effective counter-strategies. That's what we want to discuss!
Our guest is media scholar Dr. Maya Götz. She will talk about her current findings on gender representation in social media and how video clips published on TikTok can change gender perceptions for better or for worse. She has tested the impact of video clips together with young people. We will present the example of the online platform frauenseiten.bremen.de to illustrate how virtual spaces and feminist content can empower girls and women online.
