And finally, I'd like to say: Mothers accomplish an enormous amount every day, yet their own health and self-care often fall by the wayside. When does normal exhaustion become clinically relevant parental burnout? And what can be done about it?

Claudia Kirsch, scientific director of the Family Health Research Network at the Medical Sociology Research and Teaching Unit of Hannover Medical School (MHH), examines the stressors facing mothers and demonstrates why parental self-care is not a luxury but a necessity. Current scientific findings on the clinical relevance of parental burnout are considered in order to derive strategies for promoting mothers' mental health.

Participants are warmly invited to contribute their experiences and ideas on strengthening the mental health of mothers.

In-depth workshop following the conference “Mental Health Around Childbirth – A Topic We Finally Need to Take Seriously” on June 24, 2026.Participation is possible even without prior attendance at the conference. The participation fee is €15.
